Privacy Policy

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account credentials: your email address, hashed password, and authentication metadata (including third-party sign-in identifiers such as Google OAuth).
• Payment identifiers: payments are processed by Stripe. We receive limited billing metadata (transaction ID, amount, currency, status). We never receive or store your full card number, CVC, or bank credentials.
• Resume data: the personal, professional, and educational information you enter into your resumes, including any files you upload to improve or import an existing resume.
• Usage data: device type, browser, IP address, pages visited, and interaction events used to operate and improve the service.

We use your information solely to operate the service, including to:

• Render, save, and export your resumes as PDF or DOCX.
• Manage your account, authentication, and payment history.
• Provide AI-powered writing, scoring, and improvement features.
• Respond to support requests and send transactional emails.
• Detect abuse, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. Resume content you submit to our AI features is sent to our AI provider only to generate your requested output, and we do not use it to build or train our own models.

All data is transmitted over HTTPS using TLS encryption. Passwords are never stored in plain text — authentication is handled by our infrastructure provider, which stores credentials in hashed form. Your resume data is stored in a managed database with row-level access rules so that each account can only access its own records. Payment card details are entered directly with Stripe and never reach our servers. While no online service can guarantee absolute security, we use industry-standard practices to protect your data.

We rely on trusted service providers to deliver the service, including Stripe (payment processing), our managed database and authentication provider, and an AI provider used to generate resume content. Each provider is bound by its own privacy and security commitments.

We retain your resume and account data for as long as your account remains active. You may delete individual resumes at any time from your dashboard, or delete your entire account, which permanently removes your resumes and personal information (except records we are required to retain for tax, accounting, or legal purposes).

You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can export any resume as PDF or DOCX, and you can delete your account from your account settings. If you are located in the EU, UK, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or the CCPA — contact us to exercise them.

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.

Build My Resume is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page, and the "Last updated" date above will be revised.

Build My Resume is operated by Mohammad Sohrab Nizami, based in the United States, whose laws govern this policy. Where GDPR applies, we process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the resume service), to comply with legal obligations (tax and accounting records), and on the basis of our legitimate interest in preventing fraud and abuse.
